Hotel and Villa Auersperg is an exceptional boutique hotel tucked away on a quiet street just a few minute walk from Salzburg Unesco-listed old city center.
Founded in 1960, the hotel is housed in a beautifully restored 19th century villa, and has been family run for three generations. Bettina and Mark Wiesinger are the current owners and creative duo behind this stylish hotel with a rich history. Bettina’s focus is on guest experience, staff, and management, while her husband Mark manages new renovations and the design of the hotel.
The hotel has been renovated over the years to create a stunning ensemble of 55 rooms, rooftop spa/wellness center, and a rooftop terrace with a breathtaking view. When weather permits, yoga classes are offered in the evenings in their luscious garden and there are sun chairs available for lounging too.
We had the pleasure of speaking with owner Bettina Wiesinger to learn more about the design, services, and special touches to give guests a unique experience.
How would you describe the interior design style of your hotel?
The hotel is inspired by old and new design, skillfully combined to create an elegant and soothing atmosphere. The wooden floors and paneling are complemented by a mixture of mid century modern inspired furniture and modern amenities such as Tivoli Audio music systems. The color pallet is bold, but brings an element of exquisite design. Every detail has been carefully thought out and chosen for their superb quality and sustainable design.
One the modern amenities the hotel offers are Tivoli Audio Music System BTs in the guest rooms. What factors made Tivoli Audio products the right fit for the property?
When choosing an entertainment system for our hotel rooms, our goal was to find a balance between design and audio quality. We found those important design elements with the Music System BT. There hasn’t been another brand that provides these two qualities so consistently in one device. For the next generation of guest rooms, we will likely introduce the Tivoli Audio Music System Home, which we already have in our lobby.
Can you tell us about the distinctive services or atmosphere that add to a traveler’s experience when they come for a stay?
At Auersperg, the guest gets both city flair and relaxation at the same time. The beautiful garden is a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, perfect for enjoying our delicious organic breakfast in the morning or a place to relax on a mild evening. On the roof, guests will find a small City Spa with sauna, steam bath, and a sun terrace. And to complement the offer, yoga classes and massages are available too! To discover the city of Salzburg, we offer our high quality ‘Velo de Ville’ bikes and e-bikes to our guests.
When staying at the hotel, what’s the “can’t miss” feature?
Our “can’t miss” is definitely our outstanding organic breakfast buffet. We use fresh, regional products from sustainable producers. We serve a variety of homemade delicacies such as cakes, spreads, and mueslis. There is also a wide range of vegan, gluten and lactose-free alternatives - so that everyone can enjoy their dream breakfast when staying with us. A special highlight is the fresh Auersperg honey from the busy bees in our garden!
What memory you would like guests to leave with?
We describe the Auersperg as “home for the soul.” Our goal is to create an oasis for our guests in which the soul can feel at home. The Auersperg should be remembered as stylish and of the highest quality, but still casual and cozy.
