What inspired you to get into music?
I was inspired at an early age by music. If I weren’t singing, I knew I would play an instrument. Music was a very impactful element in my upbringing.
How would you describe your sound?
I would say my sound is a new R&B with a jazzy flare.
What artists would you say are your influences?
The artists who inspire me most are Adele, Jazmine Sullivan, Anderson .Paak, and Sade.
What’s your favorite local spot/venue to perform in?
My favorite local venue to perform in would have to be the House of Blues. I got the opportunity to perform backgrounds for another artist, Najee Janey, at the Boston Music Awards 2019. Honestly, a highlighted experience in my Boston journey. I can’t wait for more.
What does it mean for you to be one of the artists selected to represent the region at Boston Calling?
It really means a lot to be recognized by your own city for your artistry. It’s even more satisfying to know that you get to share the experience with other artists from the city who put in work! Looking forward to seeing more artists get this opportunity in the years to come.
What acts are you most looking forward to seeing at Boston Calling?
I’m looking forward to seeing the crowd! I love meeting new faces; it means I have an opportunity to wow someone I’ve never sang to before.
