Overall I'm satisfied w/this purchase. The unit is refurbished but not everything works + it arrived quite dusty like perhaps it had been sitting out or in the warehouse for a long time. The unit doesn't recognize the batteries - either the pair provided by Tivoli or two other new sets of batteries I tried (and, yes, they were seated correctly). Not sure it's a big deal because I don't intend to use the player as an alarm or for some other, critical function, but I would expect - new or refurbished - to receive a device that works 100%.

Very nice design and sound quality (if you read the manual, very short and concise). Front panel layout is good and overall appealing look. Comes with everything you need including AM antenna. Adequate amount of power to fill a larger sized room with great sound. Surround sound setting sounds really good from anywhere in the room. CD player has a quick response. Many people gripe about the remote, but it is small (a plus for me), works quite well and has pretty good off axis response. My only disappointment is that you have to wait after pressing a remote function for the unit to finish the request before it will accept another command i.e. if you change radio channels too quickly, you have to wait for the station to be tuned in before you can change it again (small gripe, but I can live with it). Overall, a very solid unit for the price. Units such as this are getting hard to find and I am happy that Tivoli has the forethought to continue offering gear like this, as most other manufacturers are going towards mostly Bluetooth speakers.
